Free nursing and supportive treatment services

“Gemma” nursing centre has concluded a contract with Vilnius Territorial Health Insurance Fund (Vilnius THIF) regarding the provision of services reimbursed from the funds of the Compulsory Health Insurance Fund (CHIF) to all residents of the country.

In accordance with this contract, the costs of basic nursing and supportive treatment services (up to 120 days in a standard double room) provided by “Gemma” to patients who are covered by compulsory health insurance shall be compensated by the funds from the CHIF under the nomenclature or services and basic prices specified by Vilnius THIF. Each resident has the right to receive such services without making his/her own payment, additional fee, additional conditions or conditions not provided for in the legislation to purchase additional services, if the resident has the right to pay for such services. Nursing and supporting treatment services include treatment, nursing, other minimal health maintenance services and measures for persons of any age suffering from chronic diseases, disabled persons and other patients, when there is a definite diagnosis established, the active treatment is not required and medical rehabilitation is contraindicated. These services are provided in accordance with the requirements determined by the Minister of Health of the Republic of Lithuania:
Requirements

Patients are hospitalized at “Gemma” nursing centre when the final diagnosis has already been established and there is no need for additional examination (the referral from a family doctor or treating doctor is necessary).
